Lu Parker is a multi-faceted talent. She is a journalist, actress, author,
former Miss USA, and a former teacher. As an Emmy and Genesis Award winning
journalist, you can find her reporting the news in Los
Angeles, California on KTLA. She has co-hosted national shows, and has
interviewed such names as Kanye West, Matt Damon, Eva Longoria,
Arnold Schwarzenegger, Oscar De La Hoya, and Bill Cosby. In November
2008, Lu reported live from the Democratic Headquarters in Los Angeles as
Barack Obama was elected.
In her free time, Lu is an advocate for homeless animals, and serves on the Board of Trustees at Saint Francis Hospital in Los Angeles. In 2010, she created Lu Parker Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless animals, and at risk teenagers. Lu was honored with a Genesis Award from the Humane Society United States. She was recognized for her outstanding reporting and creative portrayals of animal protection issues in three stellar segments, including an investigation into Puppy Mills. She is an avid hiker, and has been a vegetarian for 25 years. She participates in dozens of charity events annually raising money for children, animals, and the needy. Currently, you can find her reporting on KTLA in Los Angeles, California. Lu has co-hosted the Hollywood Christmas Parade twice with Entertainment Tonight's Mark Steines, and reported live from the Tournament of Roses Parade.
Miss USA 1994
Lu knows about winning! In less than 3 months, she captured the Miss South
Carolina USA, and Miss USA titles. She also placed 4th at the Miss Universe
Pageant. After winning the title, Lu was moved to Los Angeles, California. For a
year, she traveled the world making hundreds of appearances.
Actress
As an actress, Lu appears on the big screen, and on several
popular television shows, including Days of Our Lives, Bones, Monk, and Shark. She has appeared in the films An American Carol and Winged Creatures. Just recently fans caught her on the big screen in the Blockbuster film The Green Hornet.
